Design Experience

Lead Designer/Project Manager, drb Business Interiors, Saratoga Springs, New York, July 2013- Current

Daily responsibilities are working in AutoCAD specifically with furniture plans creating 2D and 3D drawings, furniture specifications in CAP 20/20 with proper discounting, rendering 3D images through visual impression, fabric and finish selections for commercial furnishings, create client proposals, constant interaction/communication with the sales team and clients throughout our design process. Gained experience in office furniture systems/commercial office space planning, specifically with Knoll Office, Knoll Studio, HON furniture systems and over 100 other lines. Some additional responsibilities are: designing marketing and advertising materials, redesigned company website, assist with order entry, attend client planning meetings and present plans and information to customers for review and approval, review sites by conducting field measurements and plan-to-site adherence checks, experience with inventories of existing product, conducts in-depth workplace requirements and analyzes space/furniture needs, develop and present space plans and color/finish boards, develop finished working drawings for specification and installation, and project management skills working closely with installation teams.

 

Administrative, Saratoga CoWorks, Saratoga Springs, New York, January 2014- June 2015

Worked with the owners and members, and developed the original concept of the company. Initial responsibilities were researching company name concepts and researching the idea of co-working environments, selecting interior finish selections, furniture space planning, signage, design the company's logo and all marketing material: including postcards, flyers, advertisements, member board, business cards, and website concept.

 

Design Intern, The Design Network, Queensbury, New York, May 2012- August 2012

Assisted with large-scale healthcare design project (Albany Medical Center); developed and completed AutoCAD plans, researched and selected artwork; reviewed other plans before submittal.

 

Design Assistant, Thebault Design, Manchester Center, Vermont, June 2007- August 2008 (Summers)

Assisted in the design of residential spaces and home installations; worked directly with clients on fabric and finish selections.

Worked directly with the doctors, other veterinary staff and architect through each design phase as the lead designer and project manager. Primarily focusing on the interior and exterior finishes, color scheme, and furniture specifications.

Worked directly with the end user, interior designer, project manager, and architect through each design phase. Responsible for providing comprehensive services for the design and execution of library interiors through furniture and interior specifications.

Finalist International Student Design Competition, Group Project: final kiosk design was one of only 12 chosen out of 209 entries from 12 countries in the PAVE the Way International 3D Design Challenge; the kiosk prototype was developed by Van Stry Design and displayed at the Globalshop trade show.
